GERMAN ELECTRICITY GRID UPGRADE WILL BE EXPENSIVE,
EXPERTS WARN
18/02/2022
The German government is concerned that the unprecedented high adoption of EVs may negatively affect the country´s electricity grid. It is expected that 15 million vehicles will hit German roads by 2030, adding significant strains on the grid. A way forward would be the use of “vehicle-to-grid” solutions. This means that power will be transmitted from the car battery back to the grid during the grid´s peak hours. _
