PTOLEMUS advised Blume Equity on its €49m investment in CameraMatics
PTOLEMUS, as a mobility & transportation M&A specialist, acted as commercial and technology due diligence advisor to Blume Equity, the European climate-tech growth investor, on its investment in CameraMatics, the Irish connected fleet intelligence and safety specialist.
As reported by the Irish Times, CameraMatics raised €49 million from a consortium led by Blume Equity, alongside the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) and AIB’s Goodbody Capital Partners. The investment will support the next phase of the company’s international expansion and product innovation across Ireland, Britain, Europe and the United States.
CameraMatics is a leading provider of video telematics-based solutions for fleet management and insurance. Founded in Ireland in 2016 by Mervyn O’Callaghan and Simon Murray, the company combines AI-driven video intelligence, advanced driver assistance and real-time analytics to help commercial fleet operators improve safety, reduce operational risk and lower carbon emissions. CameraMatics serves close to 1,000 fleet customers, with around 100,000 devices installed across both sides of the Atlantic.
PTOLEMUS supported Blume Equity with the commercial and technology due diligence of CameraMatics, drawing on its proprietary research and bottom-up market forecasts in the video telematics and fleet management markets across the British Isles and the United States.
