The European Parliament to discuss advancing autonomous driving acceptance at open events co-hosted by The Autonomous Club

Brussels, 23.11.2017 – The December issue of the Autonomous Driving Platform event will be followed by an open reception in the European Parliament co-hosted by The Autonomous Club whose meeting will take place on the 7th.

MEP Ismail Ertug will host the 5th Driving Future Platform meeting to discuss “Autonomous Driving and its impact on society”. It will take place on Wednesday, 6th December, 14.30h-17.00h, at the European Parliament (PHS 4B01).The discussion will be followed by an informal cocktail event in the members salon starting at 18.00h jointly organised by The Autonomous ClubEuropean Commissioner Gunther Oettinger will make a speech during the reception.

The Autonomous Club’s third breakfast meeting will focus on the control and access to connected & autonomous vehicle data. It will take place on Thursday, 7 December, 8.00h–11.00h, at the EU Thon Hotel in Brussels. Registrations are now open here.

At this event, Ismail Ertug, Member of the Transport Committee at the European Parliament, will present today’s state of play on the autonomous vehicle data sharing question. Alain-Marc Chesnier, Strategic Marketing & Transformation Programme Manager at COVEA, the number 1 auto insurance group in France, will then bring the insurance sector’s perspective on the subject.

Sophie Nerbonne, Compliance Director at CNIL will propose ways to ensure the shared vehicle data is protected. These presentations will be followed by our usual roundtable open discussion,
